Explore Alaskas largest city and visit the many points of interests: Take a walk on the beautiful Coastal Trail along Cook Inlet to Earthquake Park and enjoy a magnificent view of the snowcapped Alaska Mountain Range in the distance, visit Alyeska - Alaska’s largest Ski Resort - just one hour drive south of Anchorage, or enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the Anchorage renowned seafood restaurants featuring delicious fresh Salmon, Halibut and King Crab. During February and March Anchorage hosts the annual Fur Rendezvous, the Ice Carving Festival, the world-class Iditarod Sled Dog Race and other exciting winter events. Overnight: Inlet Tower Hotel Anchorage (or similar) Day 2: Anchorage - FairbanksTransfer to the Anchorage rail station and departure at 08:15 h for a very scenic full-day rail tour to Fairbanks. The seats are pre-reserved and the staff takes care of your entire luggage. Enjoy the ride ! You’ll get fantastic and breathtaking views of the snow covered Alaska Mountain Range with the towering 20.320 feet high Mt. McKinley. Stopovers are in Talkeetna and Denali National Park before arriving in Fairbanks in the evening at 19:45 h. Transfer to your hotel. Note: The Fairbanks area provides some spectacular and outstanding Northern Lights viewing (Aurora Borealis) opportunities. Remaining evening at leisure. Overnight: Pikes Waterfront Hotel, Fairbanks (or similar) Day 3: Fairbanks - Chena Hot SpringsMorning at leisure: visit the University of Alaska with a large collection of Alaska artifacts, gold nugget displays and Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) background information. Check out also the Geophysical Institute on the campus with the current and updated Aurora Forecasts for the following days. If you travel during February or March Fairbanks hosts the World Ice Art Championships, exciting professional Sled Dog Race Competitions and a variety of Winter Carnival activities. Early afternoon:private van transfer from Fairbanks along the scenic hot springs road (60 Miles) to the Chena Hot Springs Resort. First opportunities to observe the multiple colored Aurora Borealis layers (Northern Lights) on the clear and dark northern skies. Overnight: Chena Hot Springs, Moose Lodge Deluxe Rooms Day 4: Chena Hot SpringsBreakfast at the hotel. Remaining day at leisure. The Chena Hot Springs Resort provides a indoor thermal-pool with a large redwood outdoor deck, some indoor and outdoor hot tubs, restaurant, bar, the famous ice museum and hotel as well as a large - mineral water feed - natural rock lake. The “Moose Lodge” rooms have the following amenities: full bathroom, two queen beds, TV, coffeemaker. A unique heated Aurora Viewing cabin for your pure undisturbed Northern Lights viewing enjoyment is just a short walk away from the resort. Please note: We only reserve rooms for our clients at the newer hotel building addition because the old and unrenovated rooms are much smaller and do not provide the size and room amenities as described above. Overnight: Chena Hot Springs, Moose Lodge Deluxe Rooms Day 5: Chena Hot SpringsSpend this day at leisure with some exiting outdoor activities. Independent local operators are providing easy x-country skiing lessons and trips, a variety of sled dog tours from 30 minutes up to 4 hours, wonderful sleigh rides, guided snowmobiling trips into the Chena Hills or flightseeing trips across the Arctic Circle with it’s remote and authentic native villages. Alternative: just relax in the natural hot springs or take a massage to get ready for another night of breathtaking Northern Lights viewing pleasures. Please Note: The best Aurora Viewing begins around 22:00 h and continuos far past midnight. Overnight: Chena Hot Springs, Moose Lodge Deluxe Rooms Day 6: Chena Hot Springs - Fairbanks - AnchorageAfter breakfast some time to enjoy the Chena Hot Springs Resort facilities. Around noon return transfer (1 hour) by van to Fairbanks. Return flight (included) to Anchorage. Connecting flight reservations to your home destination should be made anytime after 16:00 h.
